"The collective sound is warm and rich, while the music-making is disciplined and vocally well-blended. Most importantly, the choir delivered the spirit of the work, never overdoing, which would be easy, but conveyed its power with their restraint. In short, it's one fine chorus."  Times Argus Article

New Study Finds Positive Benefits of Choruses and Choral Singing for Children, Adults, and Communities

Chorus America study evaluates the benefits of choral singing and its impact on communities.  "...singing in one of the 270,000 choruses in the U.S., such as a community chorus or a school or church choir, is strongly correlated with qualities that are associated with success throughout life.  Greater civic involvement, discipline, and teamwork are just a few of the attributes fostered by singing with a choral ensemble."

Two studies released by Chorus America, the national organization of more than 1600  professional and community choirs, and published in The Voice, provide excellent data about how children, adults and communities benefit from choral singing.  "The Chorus Impact Study" and "The Singing-Health Connection," detail many ways that choral singing has a positive health impact.  These include enhanced immunity, improved lung capacity, greater energy, better posture, less stress and depression, and enhanced feelings of relaxation and self-confidence.

In recognition of the many ways in which singing in a chorus improves the health and well being of those who participate, the following organizations and individuals are supporting Bella Voce performances this year.  We extend our sincerest appreciation for their commitment to music in our community.
