historical version of
treble voice and strings with the highly acclaimed Burlington Chamber
Orchestra.

Bella Voce is pleased to host the
Cantabile Women's Chorus and
Men's Chorus of Kingston Ontario under the direction of
Mark Sirett, performing while on tour to
Vermont and Quebec. This award-winning organization was founded in
1996 and has received national and international acclaim for its
innovative and creative programming. Noted British composer and
conductor, Bob Chilcott is an honorary patron of the organization.
The Cantabile Women's Chorus frequently appear throughout Ontario in
exchanges with other choirs. It was invited to perform at Festival
500 in Newfoundland and has produced six CDs that have been broadcast
on CBC and NPR. The choir performs a wide range of repertoire from
traditional Renaissance motets to contemporary folksong, from Canadian
repertoire to new commissions by such composers as Randall Stroope,
Eleanor Daley and Stephen Hatfield.
The Cantabile Men's Chorus was formed in 2007 and has quickly become a
significant addition to the Cantabile educational programme. This is
the first tour by this tenor and bass ensemble which has recently
worked with Diane Loomer and Bob Chilcott. The tour repertoire for
the choir will range from motets by Handl to lively Quebecois
folksong.
The concert will also feature mixed chorus repertoire by American
composer Eric Whitacre and a spiritual arrangement by Canadian Stephen
Hatfield.

The "New England Tapestry of Song" concerts will feature selections for
women's voices by New England composers and poets including two New
Hampshire composers - Amy Beach and Alice Parker, and new works by UVM
Music Faculty Professor David Feurzeig and Vermont composer Gwyneth
Walker. Flautist, Laurel Maurer, will be our guest artist.
