"The collective sound is warm and rich, while the music-making is disciplined and vocally well-blended. Most importantly, the choir delivered the spirit of the work, never overdoing, which would be easy, but conveyed its power with their restraint. In short, it's one fine chorus."  Times Argus Article

“These women could stand toe to toe with some of the finest ensembles in the United States.” Vermont Woman Article

Bella Voce is pleased to host the Cantabile Women's Chorus and Men's Chorus of Kingston Ontario under the direction of Mark Sirett, performing while on tour to Vermont and Quebec.  This award-winning organization was founded in 1996 and has received national and international acclaim for its innovative and creative programming. Noted British composer and conductor, Bob Chilcott is an honorary patron of the organization.

The Cantabile Women's Chorus frequently appear throughout Ontario in exchanges with other choirs.  It was invited to perform at Festival 500 in Newfoundland and has produced six CDs that have been broadcast on CBC and NPR. The choir performs a wide range of repertoire from traditional Renaissance motets to contemporary folksong, from Canadian repertoire to new commissions by such composers as Randall Stroope, Eleanor Daley and Stephen Hatfield.

The Cantabile Men's Chorus was formed in 2007 and has quickly become a significant addition to the Cantabile educational programme.  This is the first tour by this tenor and bass ensemble which has recently worked with Diane Loomer and Bob Chilcott.  The tour repertoire for the choir will range from  motets by Handl to lively Quebecois folksong.

The concert will also feature mixed chorus repertoire by American composer Eric Whitacre and a spiritual arrangement by Canadian Stephen Hatfield.
